DavidCCook-webDavid C Cook (DCC) announced Friday that Lindsay Black has joined DCC as publisher of traditional children’s resources. Black previously spent 13 years working for Standard Publishing.

DCC recently acquired Standard Publishing and will continue Standard’s legacy of Bible-based, high-quality Sunday school curriculum under Black’s leadership. Black will be publisher of Standard’s HeartShaper children’s curriculum and the Encounter curriculum for teens. She will also be publisher of Gospel Light’s traditional children’s resources, which DCC acquired in fall 2015.

At Standard, Black held a variety of product development and leadership roles. She has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois and a master of ministry degree from Cincinnati Christian University. Black served for over 10 years as outreach coordinator at LifeSpring Christian Church in Cincinnati.

Black said she was looking forward to working with DCC.

“I’m passionate about equipping the church to make disciples who, in turn, make disciples,” Black said. “I’m looking forward to working with the talented people at Cook to explore the opportunities related to integrating the Gospel Light and Standard Publishing curriculum lines and to refresh and develop resources that reach a new generation.”

Verne Kenney, executive publisher for DCC, commented on Black’s hiring.

“Having Lindsay join our team is another wonderful way to bring Standard, Gospel Light and David C Cook together,” Kenney said. “We’re confident that this alignment of discipleship materials will impact the local church on a global scale.”
