Retailers will soon be called upon to vote for what they think are the best products of the year--gifts, books, Bibles, music, DVDs and more--in Christian Retailing's 2010 Retailers Choice Awards. Starting later this month, retailers voting in the 10th annual competition will also have the opportunity to win hundreds of dollars' worth of the nominated products.

Celebrating 10 years in 2010, the Retailers Choice Awards have been increasingly acknowledged as an important way of recognizing some of the most significant new life-changing products in the Christian retail industry.

Dannah Gresh to promote her Harvest House books Print Email

Dannah Gresh, author of the "Secret Keeper Girl" teen series (Moody Publishers) and founder of the Pure Freedom ministry, has partnered with Harvest House Publishers to promote her two upcoming books for mothers of tween girls with the Eugene, Ore.-based publisher.

During her Secret Keeper Girl Tour, which starts this Thursday, Feb. 4, in Texas, Gresh will spotlight Six Ways to Keep the "Little" in Your Girl and 8 Great Dates for Moms and Daughters--both to be released by Harvest House in September.

A former retail leader is advising Christian store owners to plan for the worst as they prepare for the best at the start of a new year.

Bill Simmons warns that "spending too much time focused on the big picture can mean that we fail to pay necessary attention to the little details" and urges business owners to take a close look at their current operations and the small print of their agreements.

NFL star Kurt Warner retires Print Email

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, whose book with his wife, Brenda, First Things First: The Rules of Being a Warner (Tyndale House Publishers), made the New York Times best-seller list last year, has retired.

Warner, 38, announced his retirement last Friday, saying he was walking away from the game after 12 seasons while he still could walk.
