PerfectWaveThe Perfect Wave has been nominated for three awards at the 6th Annual Pan Pacific Film Festival for Best Feature Narrative, Best Editing and Best Cinematography. Winners will be announced at the festival July 24-26 in Los Angeles.

Starring Scott Eastwood (Gran Torino, Flags of Our Fathers), Rachel Hendrix (October Baby) and Cheryl Ladd (Charlie's Angels), the film opened in select markets July 11.

“We are elated and humbled that the film has been nominated for these awards,” said The Perfect Wave Director Bruce Macdonald. “We are thrilled so far with the success of the film in the U.S. and know this is a gateway to continue to spread God’s message of healing and redemption through Ian's story.”

The film shares the story of New Zealand native Ian McCormack (Eastwood), who sets out on a journey with his best friend to surf some of the most famous and challenging destinations throughout Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa in search of the mythical “perfect wave.” Ian falls in love with free-spirited Annabel (Hendrix), and his romantic pursuit leads him to the island of Mauritius, where his life is forever changed by an encounter with a school of box jellyfish. Following a divine post-mortem encounter, Ian miraculously awakens with a new understanding of life.

The Perfect Wave is a project we are very proud of,” said seven-time Emmy-winning U.S. Producer S. Bryan Hickox. “We are honored to be included at such a prestigious event and hope that this is just the first of many great things to come for this film.”

Divine Inspiration produced the film, which will be distributed by GVN Releasing.
