Luke started Pickles with a Purpose after befriending a man named Tim who worked for his mother’s company. Upon learning Tim was homeless, Luke knew he had to help. Luke decided to use his grandmother’s sweet-and-spicy pickles recipe to raise the funds he needed to build a house for Tim. This fundraiser grew into the “Pickles with a Purpose” line, which Glory Haus launched in April. Pickles with a Purpose, which operates as a nonprofit organization managed by Glory Haus, sells the Holm family’s gourmet pickles in 16-ounce jars and 12-pack cases to retailers across the country. A prominent display in the Darrah & Company showroom and pickle tastings captured AmericasMart Atlanta buyers’ attention at July's Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. July sales of the products advanced Luke’s goal of purchasing an Atlanta-area house for Tim. Luke hopes to create many dwellings for homeless individuals and families through the gourmet line. The organization also hopes to help others make a difference in their own communities. |
