David C. Cook is launching a "Good Read Guaranteed" program to promote its fiction, this fall. Introduced at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS), the offer allows customers to return a Cook novel to the publisher for a free replacement if they aren't satisfied with the one they purchased. The promotion has been highlighted in a special Christian Retailing "virtual tour" of the Cook booth for those unable to attend the July 13-17 event in Orlando, Fla. In her five-minute presentation, the publisher's senior director of global sales, Marilyn Largent, explains the fiction return offer and spotlights several major forthcoming releases presented at ICRS. They included a 10-part DVD study series to release in January 2009 to complement Francis Chan's best-selling Crazy Love and Brennan Manning's The Furious Longing, to be published in March 2009. In addition, Largent spotlighted a new preschool program based on children's character Boz, created to meet "popular demand," she said. It features a year's curriculum and clips from Boz DVDs. The David C. Cook "virtual tour" is one of almost a dozen special presentations from ICRS exhibitors to give retailers and others who were not at the show a quick overview of what they missed and extending show specials and offers.
