Christopher Laurie, son of pastor and author Greg Laurie, died July 24 in a car accident in Corona, Calif. Laurie, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene after his station wagon collided with a California Department of Transportation tractor involved in roadwork in the carpool lane, the Los Angeles Times reported. Laurie served as art director at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., for the last three years. Greg Laurie, whose congregation has approximately 15,000 members, is a popular evangelist who has written several books and is known both for his TV appearances and large Harvest Crusades outreach festivals. Regal Books, an imprint of Gospel Light, recently released the pastor's book Lost Boy: My Story, which featured stories and photos of his son. "We are grieved over the loss of Pastor Greg's son," Gospel Light President Bill Greig III said. "Our prayers for comfort are being lifted for the entire Laurie family."
In addition to his parents, Christopher Laurie is survived by his wife, Brittany, and daughter Stella, as well as his brother, Jonathan. Christopher and his wife also are expecting another daughter in November. Memorial plans for Christopher are still pending.
