Holy Hip Hop: Everyday Man, the third national release from hip-hop artist Bobby Bishop, will release July 7 from Chosen/Executive/Universal Music Christian Group/EMI CMG Distribution. The album will feature production from DJ Shok, The Abolitionists, Enock and Battleaxe, among others.
Greg O’Quin and iPraize return with After the Storm (Pendulum Records/Fontana Distribution), a mix of contemporary worship, modern R&B, soul, classic gospel and hip-hop. O’Quin, a Dove and Stellar Award nominee, arrived on the music scene in 2001 with the song “I Told the Storm.” B. David’s solo debut, Life Journal (Destiny Style Records/Taesis Distribution), released June 30. The artist, who previously recorded with Destiny Praise out of Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church in Atlanta, also primarily wrote or co-wrote the album’s 11 tracks. Turn Off the Lesser Lights, a worship album by 1000 Generations (Varietal Records/Vineyard Music/Word Distribution) releases Aug. 4. Two of the album’s tracks have already received acclaim, including “How Big Small Can Be,” named the GMA Academy’s “Song of the Year” in 2007, and “Fascinated,” which was a top three finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. |
