Giftware leader Roman Inc. is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013. In 1963, Ron Jedlinski founded the company with little capital and few staff. In the next several decades, with the help of Diane Jedlinski, extended family and a growing work force, Roman became known for its award-winning collections, including the Fontanini Heirloom Nativity, Seraphim Classics and the Joseph's Studio Collection. The company experienced significant growth in the '90s fueled by its entry into Christmas products, with various themes, collections and artificial trees and lighting. Most recently, the acquisition of Cottage Garden Collections and Alexa's Angels added to Roman's best-selling product lines. Today, Jedlinski retains the title of chairman, while ownership and management of Roman has been passed onto his daughter, Julie, and her husband, Dan Loughman, who serve on the family board along with Julie's mother, Diane. "My family has greatly enjoyed the many, personal relationships we have formed over the past 50 years with customers, employees and vendors," said Dan Loughman, president and CEO of Roman. "On behalf of my family, and the entire Roman family, I want to thank everyone that has played a role in our success!" Roman is introducing more than 1,000 new products and invites retailers to its corporate showrooms across the country, including AmericasMart in Atlanta, where an anniversary is to be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 6-8 p.m. Click here to visit Roman's Facebook page for a full listing of anniversary happenings. |
