Inspirational gift company The Blessing Collection offers high-quality framed blessings that celebrate life occasions and special people—and now furry, four-footed friends. Charlene Quint Kalebic, owner and creative designer at the Lake Forest, Ill.-based company, appeals to dog lovers with a new dog blessing that in its larger sizes can be personalized with a pet’s name. Dog blessings come in various sizes, including 8-by-10-inch for $55 suggested retail and 11-by-14-inch for $95. “I wrote a dog blessing, as I have written several blessings, because people requested it—and because I have a wonderful golden retriever myself,” Kalebic said. “My blessings celebrate the people we cherish and the moments we treasure. Anyone who is a dog lover knows that ‘dogs are people too!’ We cherish them, and they are fluffy four-footed blessings to us. Like all friendships, their friendship is one of God’s good gifts.” A cat blessing is also in the works. Each blessing is described as “original, Spirit-inspired and based on Scripture.” The framed blessings are made in the U.S.A. and are also available as greeting cards. The company’s spring catalog includes a special section of traditional Catholic and Irish blessings and prayers, as well as new styles—The Casual Living Collection and The Cottage Chic Collection—“so that the same Scripture-based blessings can go in any décor,” Kalebic said. Other blessings are for parents, siblings, military and more, and for events such as baptism, new baby and birthday. The Blessings Collection donates a percentage of its profits to charities that “inspire, bless and encourage others,” said Kalebic, whose second book, Blessings, Prayers and Heart Songs, features her blessings and other pieces, and will be published by Deep River Books later this year.
