Kathleen Samuelson has joined the Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild as the director of teaching and mentoring. “Kathleen’s background in Christian publishing, in addition to great writing and leadership skills, will be valuable assets to our growing organization,” said Guild President Dave Sheets. Samuelson’s role includes course strategy, evaluation and development. She recruits and counsels new students and manages mentor relationships. She also assists in planning conference schedules, recruiting and communicating with teaching faculty, coordinating and leading workshops and representing and promoting the Guild. Samuelson brings more than 25 years of professional editorial, product development and leadership experience and skills to her new role. She served as publications director for the CBA from 2004 to 2013, producing the association’s magazine, CBA Retailers+Resources, as well as other publications and corporate communications. “I’m thrilled to be on the team,” said Samuelson. “I’m passionate about helping writers reach their professional goals, and I’m equally excited for the future of publishing.” Samuelson’s editorial background also includes work at Fancy Publications/BowTie Press in southern California as the editorial director overseeing high-circulation consumer, trade and association magazines. She received her B.A. in English from California State University, Fullerton, and her teaching credential from University of California, Irvine. |
