Concordia’s mission coordinator adds PR role |

Elizabeth Pittman has been named manager of public relations for Concordia Publishing House. In this capacity, she will be responsible for managing communications efforts, corporate public relations and author relations. In addition to her public relations responsibilities, Pittman will continue to manage Concordia Gospel Outreach, a mission effort of Concordia Publishing House that works to share Bible-based books and resources with other mission efforts around the world. She has held his role since joining Concordia Publishing House in 2011. Pittman came to Concordia from the Washington, D.C.-based government relations office of the Russ Reid Company. While at Russ Reid she represented a variety of nonprofit organizations before Congress and federal agencies. Prior to joining the Russ Reid, Pittman served as professional staff and counsel to the Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, Drug Policy and Human Resources of the House Government Reform Committee. In addition to her oversight responsibilities, she focused on outreach to faith-based and community organizations and was instrumental in developing research analyzing the traits that were common among these successful programs. While in Washington, Elizabeth also served as communications director for Rep. Tom Ewing (R-IL) and as deputy communications director for the House Committee on Agriculture. Pittman’s range of experiences has instilled a strong understanding of the role of non-profit and community organizations, the government programs that impact their efforts, and the importance of strategic communications and partnerships impact the effectiveness of non-profit and community organizations. A graduate of Valparaiso University and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, Pittman lives in St. Louis with her husband and three sons. |
