greg-gudorf-pureflix-ceoGreg Gudorf is joining Pure Flix Digital as CEO. Gudorf is a senior technology/marketing executive with past success at Technicolor, DreamWorks Animation, Diego and Sony Electronics.

Gudorf will be responsible for directing and driving the anticipated growth of the new pureflix.com subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service. The service will take advantage of the rising number of streaming video households in North America; the number of households is expected to reach 76.5 million by 2020, according to a Digital TV Research forecast.

Pure Flix Digital, which launched earlier this summer, offers more than 2,500 full-length feature films and television series. The service is available on Roku and via iOS and Google apps.

Michael Scott, founding partner of Pure Flix, was enthusiastic about Gudorf's hire.

"Greg's technical experience in the video streaming space, along with his ability to successfully take new platforms and services to market, makes him a welcome and valuable addition to the Pure Flix family," Scott said. "We have ambitious plans to provide our faith-driven content to families anytime, anywhere, and I'm confident Greg and his team will deliver."

Before joining Pure Flix Digital, Gudorf served as COO of mgo.com, a premium digital streaming service and joint venture between Technicolor and DreamWorks Animation now serving several million consumers. Prior to that position, he was CEO at Digeo, a Paul Allen-owned company that introduced the Moxi High Definition Digital Video Recorder, which allowed consumers to discover, enjoy and share HD content from their digital cable provider, PCs on the home network and the Internet.

At Sony Electronics, Gudorf and his team launched sonystyle.com, the company's first foray in audio/video online/retail sales. He was also responsible for marketing the company's televisions, which defined Sony as a brand for years.

Another former Sony executive, Brian Pancarik, is also joining Pure Flix Digital as vice president of operations and support. Pancarik will help drive the strategy and deployment of the company's SVOD platform. He most recently was a senior product marketing and business manager at Sony Electronics in San Diego.
