Roma Downey and LightWorkers Media, the faith and family division of MGM, have acquired rights to adapt best-selling author Karen Kingsbury’s Baxter family novels as a TV series. The acquisition was announced Thursday by Rick Christian, president of Alive Literary Agency.

The deal builds on record audience response for Kingsbury’s three Hallmark Channel movies. They first aired last December, with two more airing in March and May.

Christian Standard Media announced Thursday the selection of “Deep Sea Discovery” as “About the Children's Department’s” Top Pick VBS 2016.

This is the second year in a row that the Vacation Bible School (VBS) program by Christian Standard Media (formerly Standard Publishing) has been awarded the top spot by children's ministry expert Lynda Freeman, creator of the popular children’s ministry resources blog “About the Children's Department.”

LifeWay Christian Resources has signed a purchase agreement for 2.7 acres in Capitol View, a new mixed-use, urban development in Nashville’s North Gulch district. Northwestern Mutual Real Estate is developing the 32-acre site at Charlotte Avenue and 11th Avenue North with Boyle Investment Co. This concludes LifeWay's search for a new headquarters.

The song has received RIAA 2x Platinum certification and accumulated over 2.6 million in sales and streams. Six years after its release, the song continues to dominate charts, touted by Billboard at the end of 2015 as both the No. 1 Christian and No. 8 Rock streaming song of the year. The band was also recognized as the No. 1 Christian and No. 9 Rock streaming artist of 2015 on Billboard’s year-end charts.

Skillet is currently recording their next studio project in Los Angeles with producer Brian Howes. Howes produced their 2003 hit project, Comatose.

President Barack Obama has appointed best-selling author and Pastor Adam Hamilton as a member of President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. His selection as an appointee was announced in an official White House statement Jan. 29.

The other intended appointees joining Hamilton include Christian blogger and author Rachel Held Evans and Rev. Traci D. Blackmon, acting executive minister of justice and witness ministries for the United Church of Christ and pastor at Christ the King United Church of Christ in Florissant, Missouri.

Tyndale House Publishers and Scarlet City Studios are partnering to create the first Bible designed for young gamers. Themed around the new action-adventure computer game The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance, this Bible (The Aetherlight Bible: Chronicles of the Resistance) will help players of the game engage with Scripture. The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance will be available in March 2016, and the companion Bible will be released in summer 2016.

The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance is the first digital engagement experience of its kind. The game aims to help young people see their story in the context of God’s story via a world grounded in the biblical narrative. The new Aetherlight companion Bible will help families build upon the bridge between the game’s allegory and the words of Scripture.
