Kerusso's Light House Apparel Center surpassed 2,000 units last month in stores nationwide. A study conducted during a two-year period showed an average increase of 331% in apparel sales by retailers using the display.

The center displays 20 T-shirt designs in a portable unit. First launched in 2006, the center is the cornerstone of an entire apparel sales system and organizes Kerusso apparel within a 4-by-4-foot area of floor space.

"In today's economy, retailers must obtain premium performance from all the space within their store," said Vic Kennett, president and CEO, who said the company supports retailers by combining "the latest in-store merchandising techniques with the latest apparel fashions and proven sales-marketing support systems."

Dealers who participate in the Light House program receive additional discounts on standard tees, free freight, extended payment terms, easy maintenance, free merchandising strips, stickers and more.

The center "helps sell shirts because the display looks really cool," said Robert Gutierrez, media manager of Bibles Plus Parable Christian Store in Albuquerque, N.M., which has experienced a surge in sales since placing the display unit.

Darlene Haffner, owner of The Aspen Grove in Ontario, Ore., is among other retailers reporting stronger sales with the Light House Apparel Center, having seen an increase of 248% compared to the previous year.

"If you are going to be successful with apparel it must be merchandised effectively," said Kennett, whose company was on Inc. magazine's list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. in 2007 and 2008.
