Gift companies focus on good news in tough times In light of the tough economy, a couple of gift companies are banking on good news. Jewelry company Bob Siemon Designs is offering a paperback book titled Hope: Comfort and Encouragement From the Bible. The handy-sized book can be easily carried and sampled at leisure whenever perspective from God's Word is needed. The book, which retails for $7.99, is also part of a collection that includes pewter pocket reminders. Each scripture-engraved reminder is a medal of hope that features a particular characteristic such as integrity or perseverance. Pocket reminders retail for $4.99 each.
Houston-based gratefulimages has issued a challenge to spread hope by sending notes of encouragement. The company's goal is to have 2,000 of its notes sent.
Participants are asked to commit to send four gratefulimages cards in the mail to friends, family or acquaintances-the cards are mailed to the sender free of charge-and then report back with the first name and state in which the recipients live.
