'God's Girlz' adds African-American doll Kerusso introduced its first African-American 12-inch posable fashion doll last month. Named "Imani," which means "faith" in Swahili, the doll joins the best-selling "God's Girlz" line, which includes three other dolls, Sarah, Abigail and Hannah. The Imani doll, which retails for $14.99, is dressed in a jean skirt and jacket, T-shirt, pink headband and tights, and a purse. Each of the "God's Girlz" figures is outfitted with her own Kerusso T-shirt and accessories. To enhance a child's identification with the doll, Kerusso offers similarly styled Kerusso T-shirts, jewelry, hats and beanies in youth sizes. Available accessories include T-shirts, toy purses, toy cell phones, toy brushes, changeable toy boots, a toy pet dog and more. Accessory sets retail for $8.99 each. "As a faith-based apparel company, we felt that we could make a positive contribution to the young generation with modest, yet fashionable, contemporary fashion dolls," Kennett said. "Imani is a beautiful, African-American young lady that girls will identify with in a very positive, godly way."
