Building on seven years of producing bilingual five-day Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs, Editorial Concordia releases its 2009 materials next month, Un viaje en miniatura: Descubriendo la grandeza de Dios (A Tiny Adventure: Discovering the Greatness of God). The program is available in Spanish and bilingual versions for four age groups: level 1 (3 to 5), level 2 (6-8), level 3 (9-11) and level 4 (12-14). Student packs of five lessons for each level retail for $14.99 (Spanish) or $16.99 (bilingual). "This time the (characters in the program) are in miniature in their backyard," Florencia Fau-Pieske, marketing manager of multiethnic resources at Concordia, said. "Each day participants hear a story about the children who may encounter a huge ant, butterfly, ladybug, bee, dragonfly or grasshopper. Their experiences are tied to a specific Bible story." "This is the only truly bilingual VBS program out there," she added. "You only have to buy one set of lessons, and then you have both languages. The bilingual teacher's guide opens the possibility of doing a missions event in another country." Read more in the Feb. 9 issue of Christian Retailing. |
