The double-disc CD Wow Hits 2009 by various artists recently received RIAA Gold certification (more than 500,000 sold). Released Oct. 7 and part of the multi-platinum "Wow" brand series, Wow Hits 2009 was created through a partnership by EMI CMG, Provident Music Group and Word Entertainment.

Nearing RIAA Platinum status, Wow Hits 2009 has seen significant sales increase over Wow Hits 2008 despite a declining market and all-time low in recorded music sales, Word officials said. Songs on Wow Hits 2009 include "Lose My Soul" by TobyMac, "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath and "Jesus Messiah" by Chris Tomlin.
