As publishers and authors adjust to current economic realities, some projects are finding new life as re-purposed content focused to niche markets that continue to thrive.

The Creation Story for Children by David and Helen Haidle is being re-packaged and re-released in June by New Leaf Publishing Group to better reach a new and growing market, that of Christian education.

With two new companion curriculum lesson books created to support The Creation Story for Children, it is intended as an integral part of any Christian education program, either in the home, Sunday school program or school setting.

Originally published by Zonderkidz in 2000, the Haidles' 32-page, case-bound book had previously been considered by New Leaf. "We were interested in publishing it at one point years ago," said President Tim Dudley.

"We didn't care it had been published before, because we know this book will fit our customer base perfectly. We know we have a market for the product," Dudley said. "In these tough economic times, it is very important to stay focused and know who your customer is. Unfortunately, what causes problems for companies trying to grow is creating products for non-customers."

God Made the World & Me and Creation, for preschool and grades 1-4, respectively, have been designed to work with or without the main book.
