Released at the beginning of the busiest wedding and anniversary season of the year, The Catholic Gift Bible from HarperOne is the first gift and award Bible to be made available in the New Revised Standard Version. The edition has been designed for personal use or gift-giving for landmark celebrations, and created in response to demand from Catholic readers for a Bible to present to parents, grandparents, friends and parishes to mark events including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, confirmations and first communions. Though there are more than 65 million Catholics in the U.S., constituting the largest block of churchgoers in the country, the Catholic market is underserved with Bibles, said Sam Barry, marketing and Bibles promotions manager for HarperOne. Special features of the Bible include an introduction to the Catholic spiritual life and to every book of the Bible; popular profiles of Bible heroes, key Bible terms and guides for prayer; full-color presentation pages for dedication and recording of family history; and 16 pages of Bible maps. There is also a concordance for finding key verses. Read more in the May 4 issue of Christian Retailing. |
