Moody Bible Institute recently named Paul Nyquist as the school's ninth president.

Nyquist--author of There Is No Time (Avant Ministries, 2007)--last month replaced Michael Easley, who resigned nearly a year ago. Nyquist comes to Moody from Kansas City, Mo.-based Avant Ministries, where he served for eight years as president and CEO of the international mission that develops churches around the world. He has also served as a pastor in Iowa and Nebraska.

Jerry B. Jenkins, author and Moody's board of trustees chairman, said Nyquist is "a proven leader, team builder and visionary who also happens to be a theologian. We look forward to many years of inspired leadership."

Moody was founded in 1886 by preeminent 19th century evangelist D.L. Moody. In addition to the college, other ministries include Moody Publishers and Moody Radio.
