A customer of a Christian bookstore in a San Diego suburb has made an appeal in her local newspaper for help to save the shop. Kathy Mallory recently wrote a letter to The Village News asking the community to rally around Fallbrook Christian Book Store (FCBS) in Fallbrook, Calif. "Our book store is in trouble," she wrote. "Without the community's support, its future might be in question. ... I know we can purchase cheaper, but is that what FCBS is only about? I think not. So my prayer is that we as a community would rally around the bookstore. Buy cards, gifts, music, etc. there. If each Christian family only spent $10-$15 a month, it could succeed. It's up to us." The owners of FCBS could not be reached for comment. "FCBS is my family; my boys grew up there," Mallory wrote. "I met new friends there. We laugh together. We cry together. We share our lives there. Some even meet God there." |
