Barbour Publishing's "Sales Rescue Package" is being offered to Christian bookstores at the Virtual Christian Retailing Show.

Hosted by Christian Retailing magazine, the Web-based event involves 24 exhibitors that took part in the recent International Christian Retail Show in Denver, presenting products and extending some special offers to buyers. Within its first seven days, the virtual show had more than 1,355 visits since it was launched last week.

Designed to help stores generate sales, the risk-free Barbour program features a special introductory offer to the company's new DayMaker Gift Book Program, which includes 180-day billing, 29 new gift items and 50% discount as well as free freight, returns and corrugate display.

With the initial 180-day terms and free freight both ways, stores will only need to pay for the items that they have sold during the six-month window, Barbour officials said.

Running through Aug. 31, the virtual tour will also feature Webinar training for stores, with presentations so far scheduled by Carpentree on "Successful Art and Gift Sales" (Aug. 4, 2 p.m. EST) and Kerusso on "Keys to Apparel Sales Success" (Aug. 18, 11 a.m. EST).

The training sessions will be recorded for subsequent viewing at the site, which will also host author and artist release parties. There is also a link to a new social networking forum through which retailers and suppliers can connect for fellowship, encouragement and business. Further virtual shows will follow, spotlighting seasonal and other special-focus selling opportunities.
