Fiction writers group announces finalists |

American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) has announced its 2009 Book of the Year Awards finalists. The winning books and authors among 73 finalists in 14 categories will be recognized during the ACFW Conference and Awards Banquet, to be held Sept. 17-20 in Denver. In the Debut Author category, the finalists are A Passion Most Pure (Revell/Baker Publishing Group) by Julie Lessman; Courting Miss Adelaide (Steeple Hill) by Janet Dean; Every Good & Perfect Gift (NavPress) by Sharon Souza; Hero, Second Class (Marcher Lord Press) by Mitchell Bonds; and In the Shadow of the Sun King (Thomas Nelson) by Golden Keyes Parsons. The finalists in the Lits category are Faking Grace (Multnomah Books) by Tamara Leigh; Picket Fence Promises (Steeple Hill Café) by Kathryn Springer; Single Sashimi (Zondervan) by Camy Tang; Sweet Caroline (Thomas Nelson) by Rachel Hauck; and Truffles by the Sea (Bethany House Publishers/Baker Publishing Group) by Julie Carobini. In the Long Contemporary category, the finalists are Lookin‘ Back Texas (B&H Fiction/B&H Publishing Group) by Leanna Ellis; One Holy Night (Sheaf House) by J.M. Hochstetler; Stuck in the Middle (Revell/Baker Publishing Group) by Virginia Smith; Summer of Joy (Revell/Baker Publishing Group) by Ann Gabhart; and Symphony of Secrets (Bethany House Publishers/Baker Publishing Group) by Sharon Hinck.
