GoBible's specials to Christian retailers are being featured in the Virtual Christian Retailing Show.

Hosted by Christian Retailing magazine--the Web-based event features 25 exhibitors presenting products and extending some special offers to buyers. Since it was launched July 20, the virtual show has attracted more than 4,000 visits from 61 countries.

GoBible is offering retailers a 45% discount and free domestic shipping on all GoBibles and GoBible Travelers. The GoBible--a portable, self-contained MP3 audio Bible--saw sales growth of 70% in 2008, totaling 50,000 units, in its second full year of release, company officials said.

The GoBible Traveler is a lightweight, hand-held portable device preloaded with the entire audio version of the Bible, featuring more than 70 hours of material. The GoBible Traveler is offered in English in either the King James Version, narrated by Alexander Scourby, or the New International Version, read by Charles Taylor.

Now extended through Sept. 15, the virtual show also features Webinar training for stores. The first presentation by Carpentree on "Successful Art and Gift Sales," held earlier this month, was in high demand and was sold out. Kerusso's Webinar on "Keys to Apparel Sales Success" was recently held, generating strong interest from retailers. The training sessions are recorded for subsequent viewing at the site.

Retailers will want to tune into the Music Still Matters Webinar, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. EST, and hosted by EMI CMG Distribution. Presenters Gunnar Simonsen of Christian Supply Centers and Les Coughran of EMI CMG will offer insights on why music is still important in the Christian retail product mix, how EMI CMG can help grow a store's music category and how to leverage the Internet and social media to benefit stores.

The Virtual Album Release Session was also recently launched as part of the show, featuring new songs from top artists. Phil Stacey, an American Idol finalist, discusses Into the Light (Reunion Records/Provident-Integrity Distribution), while Phillips, Craig & Dean talk about Fearless (INO Records/Provident-Integrity).

In addition, the Virtual Christmas Showcase-featuring suppliers' holiday specials and promotions-is scheduled to run Sept. 30-Nov. 16.

There is also a link to a new social-networking forum through which retailers and suppliers can connect for fellowship, encouragement and business.
