The world's largest retailer has begun carrying products by Inspired Media Entertainment, the inspirational video game company that makes games based on the "Left Behind" book series.

Beginning Oct. 12, three PC games--including Charlie Church Mouse--by the company formerly known as Left Behind Games are being offered in approximately 100 Wal-Mart stores in Dallas and Houston as well as in other Texas markets, Inspired Media officials said. The games are retailing for $19.96 and $29.96.

Christian video games will continue to rise in popularity, similar to Christian music in the 1990s, company officials said. "The U.S. market for Christian video games could reach $648 million within the next five years based upon just 3% of video game sales being in the Christian segment," said Troy Lyndon, chairman and CEO of Inspired Media Entertainment.

In an effort to promote its games at Wal-Mart, Inspired Media has sent out letters of appeal to thousands of Texas-based churches as part of a 10-week marketing campaign through Christmas.

The company publishes six games, including Charlie Church Mouse, Keys of the Kingdom and Left Behind: Tribulation Forces, the sequel to Left Behind: Eternal Forces--regarded as the most widely distributed Christian PC game.
