Christian Trade Association International (CTAI) is expecting a record turnout for its winter event in January. Open to overseas buyers as well as North American retailers, Marketsquare International 2010 is set for Jan. 10-12 at the Atlanta Airport Marriott in Atlanta.

"We have received more than twice as many registrations as we did last year at this point," said CTAI President Jim Powell, noting that hotel and registration costs are lower for the event than last year's show.

Other factors have also contributed to the increased registrations, Powell said. In addition to opening up to U.S.-based retailers, the CTAI event will feature a special remainders focus to be called the America's Christian Remainder Show, which was added in response to feedback from international buyers. The show is also being held around the same time as the Atlanta Gift Mart, set for Jan. 8-12.

Held in January, Marketsquare International 2009 attracted international buyers with annual retail sales valued at $800 million. "U.S. and international Christian resource providers cannot ignore this growing market," Powell said.

Marketsquare International 2010 will feature an opening banquet for international attendees as well as workshops for publishers and retailers.
