Paul J. Meyer, author of 24 Keys That Bring Complete Success and Forgiveness...The Ultimate Miracle (both Bridge-Logos Foundation), died at his Waco, Texas home Oct. 26 while surrounded by his family. He was 81 and had battled cancer. Meyer was a successful businessman, starting more than 150 companies, including Slight Edge Publishing and Success Motivation International, Bridge-Logos officials said. After Meyer learned he had bladder cancer in May, he expected the disease to go into remission. "If it doesn't work, I win anyway because I'm only passing through," Meyer told the Waco Tribune-Herald. "My home is in heaven." Mission Waco founder and Executive Director Jimmy Dorrell said Meyer lived out his beliefs and was "generous to a fault" to Mission Waco and its work with the homeless. Through the Paul & Jane Meyer Family Foundation, Meyer with his wife, Jane, had given away more than $65 million since its inception in 1984, the newspaper reported. Services were held Oct. 30 at the Paul J. Meyer Arena at Baylor University's Ferrell Center in Waco. |
