Crossway is halfway to its goal to see a million copies of the special-edition Share the Good News of Christmas Outreach New Testament delivered to homes nationwide this Christmas via the Christian retail channel. By early November, more than 500,000 of the Crossway outreach materials--including a Christmas message from best-selling author Max Lucado, packaged in a white door-hanger bag with the New Testament--had been sold, according to organizers. Paul Kuntz, manager of Arrowhead Parable Christian Store in Johnson City, N.Y., has sold 175 cases of the Share the Good News of Christmas bags to churches throughout his community. "The whole idea captured me," said Kuntz. "When I saw the quality of everything in the bag--the Bible, the invitation, the tract by Max Lucado--coordinated with such beautiful graphics, I knew this was a win-win, a no-brainer. Our managers had been kicking around ideas about how we could really be reaching out into our community and not just (being) another retail store, and this has been just what we were looking for." Crossway Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing Geoff Dennis said the campaign is going well. "We are grateful that so many Christian retailers like Paul Kuntz have been so enthusiastic about Share the Good News of Christmas," he said. "This partnership between Crossway and Christian retail is not merely about moving product or even building retail relationships with churches--although both of those things are happening. It's about reaching neighborhoods, families and individuals with the gospel." |
