Christian fiction's growth spurt can be attributed to the reading public's desire for "hope," said one of the category's best-selling authors. Francine Rivers, author of Redeeming Love and her newest book, Her Mother's Hope (both Tyndale House Publishers), spoke with Christian Retailing about what sets Christian fiction apart in exclusive online interview. "I think Christian fiction offers hope because we're presenting the gospel," she said. "We're presenting truth in story form that I think that connects with people." Interview as part of the Christian Retailing magazine's Virtual Christian Restock Connection, Rivers also spoke of the autobiographical ties of her latest novel, her thoughts on her legacy as a Christian author and had a special message for Christian retailers.
