Crossway has introduced ESV Mobile, making its ESV Bible available as a free application for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Features include "infinite scrolling" through the entire Bible, landscape or full-screen reading options, cross references, highlighting capabilities, search functions and the option to share via e-mail and Twitter.

Jason Park, digital media manager at Crossway, said: "After spending a considerable amount of time evaluating other Bible apps, we thought it was important to develop an application that was simple and intuitive. After installing the app, users will not need an Internet connection (be it 3G, Edge or WiFi) to access the Bible. This will serve iPod Touch users, commuters, business travelers and those with limited coverage or Internet access."
