The third annual Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year Awards were announced yesterday. Sponsored by Christian Small Publishers Association (CSPA), the awards--which recognize books produced by small publishers for outstanding contributions in Christian life--featured eight categories: Fiction; Biography; Christian Living; Relationships/Family; Bible Study/Theology; Children's (4-8 years); Children's (8-12 years); and Young Adult (12 years and up). Voted on by Christian retailers, the winners were: Spiritual Maturity: The Road to Wonderland by Bruce Baker (Grace Acres Press) in Nonfiction: Christian Living; Growing Up Yanomamö: Missionary Adventures in the Amazon Rainforest by Michael Dawson (Grace Acres Press) in Nonfiction: Biography; What to Do While You Wait for the World to End by Noah S. Martin (Noah's Ark Publishing) in Bible Study/Theology; Visionary Parenting by Rob Rienow (Randall House) in Nonfiction: Relationships/Family; Escape the Hezbollah by Pola Muzyka (Trinity Matrix Publishing) in Fiction; God Creates and So Much More by Martha A. Anthony and Lucille B. Ruth (Press-On Publishing) in Children's (4-8 years); The Person I Marry by Gary Bower (Storybook Meadow Publishing) in Children's (8-12 years); and Drawing Marissa by Jessica Adriel (Little Lauren Books) in Young Adult (12 years and up). CSPA, established in 2004 to represent and promote small Christian publishers, has grown from three to more than 70 member publishers, the association said. Click here for more information. |
