GRAMMY-winning band Third Day recently received its eighth overall Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) milestone with the Gold certification of the group's live-concert video project Live Revelations: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage (Essential Records/Provident-Integrity Distribution). In the Video Longform category, the RIAA Gold recognition represents more than 50,000 units sold. Live Revelations was released in April 2009. "We're definitely both honored and humbled to be receiving this news," said bassist Tai Anderson. "It was our desire to give our fans a real sense of what life on the road looks like--just being ourselves, sometimes tense, sometimes funny, but always being real." The recognition marks the band's eighth overall Gold certification and second for a video project--with Offerings, Offerings II, Come Together, Time and the CD/DVD version of Live Wire all receiving Gold status. Offerings and Live Wire reached the RIAA Platinum threshold, which signifies U.S. album shipments exceeding 1 million units. Additionally, Live Revelations was recognized in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category during the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards earlier this year. The Atlanta-based rock band also has GRAMMY trophies for the Essential Records albums Come Together (2002), Wire (2005) and Wherever You Are (2006). |
