The first anniversary of singer Michael Jackson's death might have dominated the headlines in recent days, but the Thriller Tour that made a stop at the show was about mystery, not music or the pop icon's best-selling album. Authors Robin Carol, Brandilyn Collins, Tosca Lee and James L. Rubart signed black T-shirts bearing the Thriller Tour message at the B&H Publishing Group booth as part of a three-city, 10-stop event promoting their latest titles. Taking in St. Louis and Philadelphia, the trip ends in New York City next week, when Collins and Lee are due to participate in a panel at ThrillerFest, the international thriller writers' group meeting. Their involvement in that event "shows that Christian fiction has a tremendous amount of respect," said Julie Gwinn in B&H trade book marketing. "Good fiction is good fiction, no matter whether it is inspirational or whatever." The Thriller Tour was part of "letting people know that B&H is serious about fiction," said Senior Fiction Editor Karen Ball. "It raises the awareness on the part of the retailers. We have seen some phenomenal growth in the major stores." Launched at ICRS last year, B&H's "Pure Enjoyment" fiction line releases 14 titles a year. |
