Strang Book Group is offering a special commemorative discount on one of its best-sellers to promote the title's use as an outreach tool for Halloween. The offer of 65% discount and free freight is for Bill Wiese's 23 Minutes in Hell, which recently passed the 1 million mark in sales. The 2006 title from Strang's Charisma House imprint is subtitled "One Man's Story About What He Saw, Heard, and Felt in That Place of Torment." Drawing from his experience and Bible passages, Wiese shares insights to commonly asked questions such as: Is hell an actual burning place? Where is hell? Do you have a body in hell? "Selling more than 1 million copies of 23 Minutes in Hell is a reflection of the interest in the afterlife and supernatural," said Tessie DeVore, executive vice president of Strang Communications' Book Group. "It is gratifying to know that people are learning about this subject from a Christian and biblical perspective, and we thought the book could be a great evangelistic resource for individuals and churches to use this Halloween season." Wiese's book--retail price $12.99--has been successful at Morning Star Bookstore locations in the New England region, selling almost 600 copies. "People are wanting to know more about 23 Minutes in Hell as a way of witnessing to the lost and hopefully to build a stronger relationship with God," said buyer Scott Collins. The offer to Christian retail stores and church bookstores of 65% off and free freight on nonrefundable case lots runs through Oct. 31. |
