A children's Bible featuring the Berenstain Bears and a first novel from best-selling author Lee Strobel are among the new releases coming from Zondervan next year. The Berenstain Bears Holy Bible and The Ambition feature in the company’s May-August 2011 release schedule just announced. Designed for children aged 4-7 and using the New International Readers Version (NirV) text, the Bible will include 20 full-color pages featuring the Berenstain characters by Michael Berenstain, whose parents Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the series in the 1970s. Zondervan launched a faith-based series of Berenstain titles in 2008. The winner of multiple awards for his “Case for” books, Strobel will debut as a novelist with a legal drama that draws on his years as an investigative reporter for The Chicago Tribune. Centered on a struggling lawyer caught up in a political struggle, the book is described as weaving “edgy characters into an intricate thriller.” Also in the forthcoming lineup is Learning, the second in the “Bailey Flanigan Series” by Karen Kingsbury, following a young couple in a long-distance relationship. |
