Karen Kingsbury and Bodie and Brock Thoene have received nominations in the 2011 Audies competition, announced recently by the Audio Publishers Association (APA). The Gathering Storm by Bodie and Brock Thoene (Summerside Press), narrated by Bodie Thoene (Oasis Audio); and Unlocked by Karen Kingsbury (Zondervan), narrated by Roxanne Hernandez (Zondervan) were nominated in the Inspirational/Faith-Based Fiction category. Other finalists in the division were: Edge of Apocalypse by Tim LaHaye and Craig Parshall (Zondervan), narrated by Stefan Rudnicki (Zondervan); Fireflies in December by Jennifer Erin Valent (Tyndale House Publishers), narrated by Kate Forbes (Recorded Books); and Missing Max by Karen Young (Howard Books), narrated by Laural Merlington (Oasis Audio). The finalists in the Inspirational/Faith-Based Non-Fiction category were: God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours by Regina Brett (Grand Central Publishing), narrated by Regina Brett (Hachette Audio); In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Joyful Giving by Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy with Sally Jenkins (Henry Holt and Co.), narrated by the authors, Kathleen McInerney and Rick Adamson (Macmillan Audio); Shattered: Struck Down, But Not Destroyed by Frank Pastore with Ellen Vaughn (Tyndale House Publishers), narrated by Pastore (Oasis Audio); The Blueprint: A Plan for Living Above Life's Storms by Kirk Franklin (Gotham Books), narrated by Dion Graham (Brilliance Audio); and Toward a True Kinship of Faiths: How the World's Religions Can Come Together by The Dalai Lama (Harmony Books), narrated by Richard Gere (Random House Audio). In the Personal Development category, "Zig Ziglar's Leadership & Success Series" narrated by Zig Ziglar (Blackstone Audio) was a finalist, competing with audiobooks by authors including Queen Latifah and Gary Zukav. Awarding excellence in nearly 30 categories of audio publishing, The Audies will be announced at The TimesCenter in New York City, May 24.
