The fourth annual Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year Awards have been announced. Sponsored by Christian Small Publishers Association (CSPA), the awards—which recognize books produced by small publishers for outstanding contributions in Christian life—featured eight categories: Fiction; Biography; Christian Living; Relationships/Family; Bible Study/Theology; Children's (4-8 years); Children's (8-12 years); and Young Adult (12 years and up). The competition drew 72 titles nominated by 48 publishers. Voted on by Christian retailers, the winners were: The Master's Wall by Sandi Rog (DeWard Publishing Co.) in Fiction; Why God Matters: How to Recognize Him in Daily Life by Karina Lumbert Fabian and Deacon Steven Lumbert (Tribute Books) in Christian Living; Real Mothers: A Bible Study About Mothers for Mothers by Joyce Long (CrossLink Publishing) in Bible Study/Theology; I Can See the Shore: Growing Up Yanomamo Today by Mike Dawson (Grace Acres Press) in Biography; Raising Real Men: Surviving, Teaching, and Appreciating Boys by Hal and Melanie Young (Great Waters Press) in Relationships/Family; With My Rifle By My Side: A Second Amendment Lesson by Kimberly Jo Simac (Nordskog Publishing) in Children's (8-12 years); 10 Things Every Kid Should Know About God by Tina V. Bryson (Leeway Artisans Publishing) in Young Adult (12 years and up); and The Awakening by Cliff Warden (Clifford Warden). CSPA, established in 2004 to represent and promote small Christian publishers, has grown from three to around 100 member publishers, the association said. Click here for more information. |
