Looking to replicate the success of its other football-themed titles, Tyndale House Publishers will release this fall a book by former Dallas Cowboys Running Back Emmitt Smith, a National Football League Hall of Fame inductee in 2010.

Scheduled to be released in September, Game On: Find Your Purpose—Pursue Your Dream will "outline the principles that helped the Dancing With the Stars champion and successful real-estate investor become a winner on and off the field," Tyndale House said. The book will feature a multi-city book tour and a comprehensive marketing campaign.

"We all need a strong dose of what Emmitt Smith has in order to become what we were meant to be," said Jon Farrar, Tyndale's acquisitions director. "I can't wait for the public to see the behind-the-scenes Emmitt in his book. It inspired me—and I know it will inspire millions more to make their dreams a reality."

Tyndale has had several hits with sports-related titles in recent years. The autobiography of New Orleans Saints Quarterback and Super Bowl XLIV MVP Drew Brees, Coming Back Stronger: Unleashing the Hidden Power of Adversity reached No. 3 on the New York Times best-sellers list last year, selling more than 200,000 copies. With more than a million copies sold, Tony Dungy's Quiet Strength—released in July 2007—has become one of the best-selling, sports-related titles in history.

Dungy's second book, Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance, reached No. 2 on the New York Times best-sellers list in February 2009 and has sold more than 300,000 copies, while his third book, The Mentor Leader, also reached No. 2 on the New York Times list earlier this year.

Other Tyndale football-related books that have made the New York Times lists include First Things First: The Rules of Being a Warner by former NFL Quarterback Kurt Warner and his wife, Brenda; Game Plan for Life by NFL Hall of Fame member Joe Gibbs; The Winners Manual by Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel; and Don't Bet Against Me! by Deanna Favre, wife of NFL Quarterback Brett Favre.
