Capitalizing on new technology, Thomas Nelson has released its first ''enhanced" digital book. Released Aug. 25, best-selling author and pastor Max Lucado's Max on Life: Answers and Inspiration for Today's Questions features audio and video elements as well as digital content. Thomas Nelson Senior Vice President and Group Publisher for Nonfiction David Moberg said that Lucado was "the perfect author" to launch the publisher's first enhanced e-book. "Max's popularity and accessibility are unparalleled, and his fans will appreciate this opportunity to explore his insights via an interactive version of Max on Life," he said. The print version of Max on Life was released in April, featuring more than 60% never-before published material from Lucado's sermons, emails, letters and conversations. Other Christian publishers have released enhanced digital books. David C. Cook recently made available an e-book of Francis Chan's first book, Crazy Love, which has sold more than a million copies and topped best-seller charts since it was released in May 2008. Meanwhile, Zondervan released in January an enhanced e-book of Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life—the best-selling hardcover nonfiction title in publishing history with more than 30 million copies sold since it was originally published in 2002. |
