A book warning of God’s impending judgment on America has gone to a second reprint within days of release, to keep up with demand. Two additional 50,000-copy print runs of The Harbinger have been ordered by Charisma House since the book by Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn—which ties events since 9/11 to a prophecy in Isaiah 9—came out Tuesday. The book rose to number eight on Amazon’s best-seller list Wednesday after Cahn appeared on CBN’s The 700 Club to tell host Pat Robertson about his message. Subtitled “The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America’s Future,” The Harbinger is published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House. It traces a series of detailed parallels between what has happened in the U.S. since the 2001 terrorist attacks—including the economic collapse—and Israel’s history after it turned away from God. Told in fictional form, the book sets out how nine signs concealed in recent events reveal God’s progressive judgment. “We are living in the balance,” Cahn told Robertson. “God is calling America to return. He is calling all of us to consecrate ourselves, to pray for America.” Calling The Harbinger a “fascinating’ book, Robertson told viewers it was a prophetic word to the nation and “a read you need to make.” Charisma House Publisher Steve Strang said that the strong reaction to Cahn’s television appearance had confirmed advance interest in the book. “People are really gripped by the message when they hear more about it,” he said. “We believe that it’s an important and timely book for our nation and for the church.” Marcos Perez, vice president of sales at Charisma House, said: “There is something special about this book. God has had His hand all over it and it’s just exciting to be a part of it.” Cahn has also appeared on The Jim Bakker Show this week to talk about the book. Bakker urged viewers to tell friends and relatives about the broadcasts about the book, which he said “could be the most important message they will ever hear.” Raised in a Jewish home, Cahn became an atheist before accepting Christ as Messiah as a 20-year-old. Since 1988 he has led Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne, N.J., one of the country’s largest Messianic congregations. Through his Hope of the World ministry he has ministered in Cuba, Nigeria and India. Charisma House is part of Charisma Media, which also publishes Christian Retailing.
