International trade and licensing show Marketsquare Asia will be held Sept. 2-4 at the Singapore Recreation Club in Singapore. The show will include international translation rights negotiation as well as sales of Christian products available in English and other languages. Describing the show as “your opportunity to meet with Asian customers,” Executive Director of Christian Trade Association International Kim Pettit said: “We will have distributors, wholesale and retail buyers from Singapore, but we also expect buyers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and other Asian countries.” Tyndale House Publishers President and CEO Mark Taylor will speak about “The Top Five Trends in Christian Publishing That Excite (or Worry) Me” at the show Sunday, then the exhibit floor will open for business Monday and Tuesday. Bookseller and publisher workshops will also be offered. Dave Endrody, vice president of sales for Tyndale, will present two workshops drawing on his experience at American Express and Tyndale to provide practical advice for the Christian trade in the region. Marketsquare Asia is preceded by the Korea Christian Rights Fair (Aug. 23-24 in Seoul, South Korea) and the Beijing International Book Fair (Aug. 29-Sept. 2 in Beijing).
