Christian Trade Association International (CTAI) is gearing up for Marketsquare Europe, to be held Oct. 4-5 in Budapest, Hungary, prior to the Frankfurt Book Fair. The event features a two-day translation rights show and a banquet. Paul Abspoel, publisher at Ark Media in Amsterdam, Netherlands, will speak on his journey in publishing and discuss “How to Reinvent Yourself,” “Network or Die” and “From Christian Publishing to Christian Power House.” Els de Jong-van Gurp, director of BCB in the Netherlands, will lead a session on how publishers and booksellers can use social media to increase sales. CTAI chose Budapest for this year’s event because of its location in Central Europe and proximity to Romania, a key market for translation in Eastern Europe. “Christian Trade is providing scholarships to facilitate Easter European publishers’ participation in the event,” said Kim Pettit, CTAI’s executive director. “By investing in training and providing publishers with forum for the exchange of translation rights, we seek to serve publishers in emerging Christian markets in Eastern Europe.” Click here for more information or to download the exhibitor application, or contact CTAI (+1-719-432-8428; This email address is being protected from spambots.
