Solo artists TobyMac and Jeremy Camp plus the Newsboys have been nominated for Contemporary Inspirational Music's Favorite Artist honor in the 2012 American Music Awards (AMAs). This is the second consecutive year that TobyMac has been nominated for the prizes' sole category dedicated to Christian music, with last year's award won by Casting Crowns. This is TobyMac's fourth career nomination, Camp's third and Newsboys' first nod. Nominees in 20 categories from pop or rock to rap and hip-hop are determined from chart data, and fans will choose the winners in online voting for the sixth year at the Coca-Cola AMA website, AMAs365.com. Produced by Dick Clark Productions, the 40th annual AMAs will be held Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles and will air live on ABC (8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT).
