Seattle-based BEC Recordings has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with New Day Christian Distributors, effective June 3. "New Day is the perfect home for BEC Recordings and our CBA titles," said Brandon Ebel, president of BEC Recordings and Tooth & Nail. "We are excited to collaborate with an independent company and look forward to a fruitful partnership." Michael Turner, director of product acquisitions for New Day, said he admires Ebel's "grass-roots approach and independent spirit." "I am looking forward to working with the BEC team to promote artists and music I personally and professionally believe in," he added. Ed Leonard, vice president of New Day, noted that Ebel, Tooth & Nail Records Vice President and CFO Jim Worthen and BEC Recordings General Manager Tyson Paoletti "are consummate indie record guys." "Their approach mirrors our own," Leonard added. "Being that we are both independently owned companies, we are excited to see how God uses us to further His kingdom." The first distributed releases will be The Good King by Mars Hill Music folk-rock worship band Ghost Ship on June 11, followed by Dreamers by Shine Bright Baby on July 23 and the second as-yet-untitled album from 7eventh Time Down this fall. New Day will also assume distribution for the debut self-titled album from All Things New; Seventh Day Slumber's Love & Worship; Citizens' self-titled release; the Mars Hill Music Worship Sampler; and The OC Supertones' For The Glory. |
