Three Wm. B. Eerdmans titles have been named on the International Bulletin of Missionary Research (IBMR) journal's "Fifteen Outstanding Books of 2012 for Mission Studies" list.

Assembled by IBMR editors in consultation with 50 scholars from around the world and published in the April issue of the journal, the list included Eerdmans' The Spiritual in the Secular: Missionaries and Knowledge About Africa edited by Patrick Harries and David Maxwell; Summoned From the Margin: Homecoming of an African by Lamin Sanneh; and Light on Darkness? Missionary Photography of Africa in the Nineteenth and Early Twentieth Centuries by T. Jack Thompson.

Others on the list were Historiography of Christianity in India by John C.B. Webster and An Unpredictable Gospel: American Evangelicals and World Christianity, 1812-1920 by Jay Riley Case (both Oxford University Press); and Putting Names with Faces: Women's Impact in Mission History by Afrie Songco Joye, Christine Lienemann-Perrin and Atola Longkumer (Abingdon Press).

A quarterly publication of the Overseas Ministries Study Center in New Haven, Conn., the journal offers in-depth analyses of worldwide Christianity and mission-focused book reviews.
