New York Times best-selling author Wanda E. Brunstetter, who has written more than 70 fiction and nonfiction books featuring the Amish, invites quilters to participate in a quilt-square drive to benefit a mental health facility in Goshen, Ind., that serves the Amish community. Through Aug. 31, quilters who wish to participate are invited to submit a 6-inch quilted block. "The individual squares will be stitched together to form a beautiful quilt, which will then be auctioned," said Brunstetter. "If we receive more squares than we need for one quilt, we’ll make more quilts. All the proceeds from the quilt auction will be donated to Oaklawn, a wonderful facility providing mental health services to the Amish." The first 250 quilters to submit a quilt square will receive a copy of Brunstetter’s The Tattered Quilt, the sequel to the New York Times best-selling The Half-Stitched Amish Quilt Club (both Barbour Publishing). Quilted blocks can be submitted to Nancy Berland Public Relations, 2816 NW 57th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
