The Jesus Storybook Bible has topped 1 million units sold. Sales of the children’s Bible by New York Times best-selling author Sally Lloyd-Jones and award-winning artist Jago have been “nothing short of incredible,” said Annette Bourland, senior vice president and group publisher of Zondervan Books. “Sally and Jago create such inspiration in all of their works, and we are thrilled to share this milestone,” Bourland added. “Our continued focus on making this available to more people will bless children, families, churches and other organizations who want to plant the seed of Christ.” The Jesus Storybook Bible has been translated into 19 languages worldwide, and has been published in eight different formats, including a church curriculum and a collector’s edition with audio narration and animated videos. Filled with original illustrations by artist Jago, the storybook Bible is the narrative of 44 Bible stories of a young Jesus who comes back to win his lost treasure. "I never imagined as I wrote The Jesus Storybook Bible that it would take off like this,” said Lloyd-Jones. “I'm so grateful. And I have no doubt about who the author of the book's success is. To Him goes all the credit." The Jesus Storybook Bible has also received several key accolades, including the Mom’s Choice Award, the Moonbeam Award and the NAPPA Award. It has been mentioned in thousands of blogs, magazines, newspapers and trade reviews, including USA Today and Christianity Today. Despite its original target audience of children, The Jesus Storybook Bible has appealed to adults as well and is being used in men’s and women’s ministry groups, prison ministries and seminary classes. Earlier this year, it was put on the list of recommended titles for Bible Study Fellowship. For more information, visit www.JesusStoryBookBible.com. |
