Tommy Nelson, the children’s division of Thomas Nelson, has announced a four-book deal with best-selling author-illustrator Mercer Mayer, creator of the “Little Critter” series. With more than 150 million copies in print worldwide, the “Little Critter” series for children combines Mayer’s unique art style with wholesome but humorous stories. In each book, Little Critter learns a little more about the world around him—and each depicts his foibles as he learns how best to interact with it. The “Inspired Kids” line of the “Little Critter” series will feature all-new stories, each centered on a particular felt need. Readers will recognize familiar characters and settings from the brand, and the new books will include scriptures that highlight lessons children can learn from the stories. “We are thrilled to work with Mercer and get the chance to tell new stories of inspiration with the help of Little Critter,” said Laura Minchew, senior vice president and publisher of specialty publishing. The first two books in the “Inspired Kids” line, You Go First and It’s True will release Oct. 8. |
