ReelWorks Studios’ latest film, The Ultimate Life, earned nearly $660,000 on its opening weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. The $1,602-per-screen average across 412 screens surpasses the performance of the original film in the series, The Ultimate Gift. “With a solid opening weekend and high viewer ratings, we believe The Ultimate Life will continue the success of the first film in the series, which has continued to do remarkable business worldwide,” said producer Rick Eldridge. Released Sept. 6, The Ultimate Life is based upon Jim Stovall’s best-selling book of the same name, which was originally published in 2007 by David C Cook. The Ultimate Life movie, which features Golden Globe winner Peter Fonda and Friday Night Lights’ Drew Waters, has garnered some strong reviews. “This may be director Michael Landon Jr.’s best work,” wrote Clash Entertainment, while Focus on the Family’s Plugged In wrote that The Ultimate Life “poignantly reminds us that our family and our relational legacy are of far greater worth than any worldly goal we might strive to achieve.” |
